Essay on Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln is regarded as the greatest American president. He had a very simple origin.

He was the son of a poor farmer. So he had to work hard from his childhood. When he was a young men he walked as a woodcutter.

With the money he earned he bought books and learned to read and write.

Later he worked as a post master and a storekeeper. In his spare time he entered politics and earned a name as an orator.

The people loved him and they elected him as their president. As the president he proposed to abolish slavery.

But the plantation owners of the south raised a strong objection. Finally this dispute lead to civil war between the northern states and the southern states.

At last the Northern States lead by Lincoln won the war, and he abolished slavery. Abraham Lincoln was a great man who loved mankind.
