Elephants are the largest land animals on the earth. They are either black or green in colour. They have for legs and a small tail. Their ears are big and they have a long and powerful trunk.
They use their trunk to drink water and pick up food. They have two large white teeth known as tusks which they use for their protection. They also have small teeth inside the mouth.
Elephants eat fruits, shrubs and grass. They love to eat sugarcanes. Elephants are very strong and powerful. At some places, they are used to carry heavy loads. Elephants live in herds. They look after their young ones just like our mothers do. They laugh, play and cry like we do. They are also known to have a very good memory.
