Breast Cancer is one of the most common forms of cancers found in women and being the second leading cause of cancer deaths for females; many women around the world have started to show more concern as to what would help them identify the signs and symptoms of this deadly disease. The main reason for this is because, if you detect breast cancer at its earliest stage, there is a 95% chance of curing it. If undetected early, the consequences are more dangerous, leading to the removal of the breast or even death. Therefore, this article aims to highlight the common signs and symptoms of breast cancer that would help take precautionary actions to save ones life from this lethal disease.

Breast cancer can be painless in its initial stages, but some of the symptoms explained below might appear, which would mean that you should consult your physician immediately to check on it. Some of the most common signs and symptoms are as follows:

Changes in breast size and shape

A sudden enlargement in the breast, especially if its only in one side, you should immediately consult your physician.

Nipple discharge

You might see a pus-like discharge from the nipple. This could sometimes be clear, greenish or even bloody.

An itchy armpit or breast (constantly)

If you feel a constant itch in and around the breast and armpit area, it could possibly be the initial development of breast cancer.

A breast is hot or warm to the touch (constantly)

Constant warmth throughout the breast region is often a sign of breast cancer

An inverted nipple

If you observe your nipple turning inwards (inverting) or getting flattened, you better get it checked right away.

Breast turning red, pink or getting darker

A lasting change in the color of the breast is a clear symptom of breast cancer.

Lump or swelling in the armpit region

Swelling or a mass inside and around the armpit region that could be seen and felt.

Change in the color and feel of the nipples or areolas

If you feel a change in the areolas or the nipples, along with a change in the color, it is a clear indication of breast cancer (development).

Ache in the breast

This might not be the case initially, but as the cancer develops, you might feel a pain in and around the breast area.

Breast having a dry or flaking appearance

Scaly or dry breast skin could be observed if the victim is suffering from breast cancer.

Dimpling of the skin around the breast

If you observe pits, dimples, ridges or crinkles in the breast skin, it is a clear indication of breast cancer.

Swelling of one arm

This too can be a sign of breast cancer. If you notice any of these signs or symptoms, consult your physician right away since the sooner you medicate it, the better the chances of cure and survival.
